The Third Annual Golf Tournament

A Great success!

We enjoyed a delightful Saturday of sunny weather, sweet swings, wide smiles and a few opportunities to use mulligans. We had eight teams register and in short, the 2013 Annual Hispanic League Golf Tournament held at Salem Glen Golf & Country Club was a great success.  We raised $2200 toward scholarships for 2014.   This year we again were honored to have four Scholarship Recipients play - Brian Cedillo, Sandra Castro Cortes,Natalie Cedillo, and Angel Cedillo  (sponsored by Reynolds American.) Those golfing were able to see first hand a sample of students that their support of the Hispanic League is impacting.

The BB&T Team of  David Dahl, Doug Mackey, Pastor John Ruff, and Tom Baldwin won first place with a score of 65. Their prizes were sponsored by The Law Office of Alan Doorasamy Sr. They were followed closely by Scott Keefe's second place team, Norm Justice, Scott Reese, Kevin Keefe, with a score of 67. Those prizes were sponsored by Salem Glen Golf & County Club. Norm Justice won both the Longest Drive sponsored by Costco and Closest to the Pin sponsored by the Sheraton.  He very graciously offered his win of the weekend at the Sheraton in Chattanooga TN as a auction item which was won by Doug Mackey.

A huge thank you to the planning committee, Tom Cornejo, Guillermo Alvarez, Norm and Maria Justice, Maria Aguilar, Mary Dickinson and Rachel Harris for their dedication to make the tournament a success   Special thanks to Phil Dickinson, Luisa Elena Alvarez and Maria Aguilar for being our photographers and Wayne Turner, Guillermo Alvarez, Maria Justice and Bessy Osorio for being the drivers of the drink/snack carts sponsored by Members Credit Union.

And a "delicious" thank you to the City of Winston Salem for being our Reception Sponsor with wonderful fajitas and Firehouse Subs for being our Lunch Sponsor. Last but not least thank you to all our players, hole sponsors and raffle sponsors-without you we would not have an event!  A complete list of all our sponsors is on our website.
